The mother did mention that she and her husband are in the middle of a "friendly" divorce. He will be moving out in May to a different house in the same subdivision. I'm not entirely sure what kind of impact this will have on the kids. I'm assuming that they will need lots of stability and love.
I've been watching a lot of Nanny 911 lately to brush up on my parenting skills. For those of you who don't know, Nanny 911 is a show where a British nanny comes into a family with out of control children and helpless parents and takes charge of the situation. By the end of one week, the parents learn how to discipline their kids, and the kids learn how to behave. Nanny Deb has taught me a lot about interacting with children, although I was quite bummed when I learned that lacing Kool-aid with NyQuil is an inappropriate way to get a child to take a nap.
I also received a call from Macy's today. They want me to come in on Saturday to interview for a position as an on-call sales associate. I was surprised to get a callback because I have zero sales experience. I'm honestly super stoked about the possibility of working someplace that does not require me to change adult diapers or clean up vomit. In fact, the thought of going 4 consecutive months without having to wipe somebody else's ass makes me feel all warm and tingly inside.
